The Indian Navy has officially released the recruitment notification for Agniveer (SSR) and Agniveer (MR) for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. Eligibility Criteria (Latest 2026 Updates)

1. Educational Qualification

  • Agniveer SSR: Must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) with Mathematics and Physics, and at least one of these subjects: Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
  • Agniveer MR: Must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognized board with at least 50% aggregate marks.
  • SSR (Medical): 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) with 50% aggregate and 40% in each subject. (Note: Only for unmarried males).

2. Age Limit (Batch Wise)

The age limit for this recruitment is 17.5 to 21 years. Specifically:

  • 01/2027 Batch: Born between 01 Dec 2004 – 31 May 2009.
  • 02/2027 Batch: Born between 01 May 2005 – 31 Oct 2009.(Both dates are inclusive).

3. Marital Status

Only Unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Female candidates are encouraged for SSR and MR, while SSR (Medical) is currently male-only.


Selection Process: The 3 Stages

The Indian Navy follows a rigorous selection process to ensure only the best are selected.

Stage I: Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET)

  • It is a Computer-Based Online Exam.
  • Fee: ₹550 + 18% GST (Common for all categories).
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

Stage II: PFT, Written Exam & Medicals

Shortlisted candidates from INET will be called for Stage II. This includes:

  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Mandatory qualifying stage.
  • Written Examination: Final screening.
  • Recruitment Medical Examination.

Stage III: Final Medical at INS Chilka

The final merit list candidates will undergo a detailed medical examination at INS Chilka before the commencement of training.
